Email: mohd.sabaullah@petronsaudi.com QC MANUAL (ASME) 7.2 QUALIFICATION OF WELDING PROCEDURE SPECIFICATIONS 7.2.1 Welding Engineer is responsible for qualifying the WPS mentioned above, by supervising the welding of test coupons, in accordance with ASME Section IX and arranging testing of specimen from approved testing laboratory according to the requirement of the ASME Section IX, witnessing and recording the 'as welded' data and test results in PQR. Manager QA/QC shall date and certify the PQR. 7.2.2 All relevant WPS/PQR shall be made available to the Al for review. Al has the right to ask for re-qualification if he has specific reason(s) to question a WPS. 7.2.3 When a change in essential variable or supplementary essential variable (if required) to a WPS is required, a new WPS shall be prepared and qualified as above. When there are changes in non-essential variables only, the WPS is revised without re-qualification. 7.2.4 Welding Engineer shall prepare the applicable WPS, get it approved by Manager QA/QC and distribute to Works Manager.
